Lifelong DeSoto County resident Murry Haslip is ready to bring his strong work ethic and conservative values on behalf of District 1 voters to the Mississippi State Senate.
Haslip, the co-owner and chief operating officer of Allison Hay Farms, resides in Lewisburg with his wife, Katheryn, a teacher at Lewisburg Middle School. Haslipspends his free time in the outdoors and playing golf, as well as enjoying precious time with his family.
Following his graduation from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing, Haslip founded the DeSoto Meat Co., which sells grass-fed beef at Hernando Farmers Market, and the Lewisburg Development Group. He is also a partner at Vintage Home Builders Inc.
His experience with leading several successful businesses lead him to complete and graduate from the Leadership DeSoto program.
As part of his love for nature and wildlife, the longtime National Rifle Association member joined the Olive Branch Sportsmen’s Club. He currently serves as secretary of the club. Haslip is also a member of the DeSoto County Soil and Water Conservation organization, a board member of the DeSoto County Farm Bureau, and a member of the Olive Branch Country Club.
Haslip, a longtime Republican, was recently appointed to serve on the DeSoto County Planning Commission.
With his health care, farming, and small-business background, as well as his conservative family values, Haslip believes a common-sense approach and strong work ethic is just what is needed in the Mississippi State Senate.
